Some of the categories here are by design, and fixed. I'm not a couples therapist or one who sees kids. These are not my strengths, and I'm always happier making a referral to someone who can help in ways I'm not able to.
My practice has evolved to include some areas of specialization I couldn't have foreseen. Though I lack any background in tech, I am something of a tech workers' therapist. I've talked to people in technology for years and know something of the culture and the pressures of the work.
I also find that a lot of the people who choose to talk with me are first generation Americans.. Lately there is also a large place in my practice for people a few years out of college who are figuring out what's next. All of these are populations I am happy and honored to work with.
I have some experience working as a therapist's therapist.
Issues that clients have most often come to me with include anxiety, depression, difficult transitions including career transitions, sexuality and coming out, complex relationships with family, partners, and religion, and then perhaps in its own bucket, big existential issues like aging and grieving.
